Randy Owen

Afternoon Drive Announcer @ Country 107.3

Born and raised in Welland, Ont., Randy Owen began his radio career in his hometown (while attending Broadcasting classes at Niagara College).  He’s worked at other Ontario stations in Kitchener, Brantford and currently Tillsonburg as well as hosting the nationally syndicated overnight live request show “Cryin’, Lovin’ or Leavin’” for three years on 65 station right across Canada.  He’s also served as music director at some of the stations he’s worked at.  Owen is also the only person to win both national country radio personality of the year awards (from the Canadian Country Music Association and RPM magazine’s Big Country Awards) in the same year.

He’s also known for his engaging artist interviews with country music superstars (like Garth Brooks and Terri Clark), legends (like Johnny Cash and Carroll Baker) and rising artists (like Devon Dawson and Eric Ethridge).  Next month (June) marks his 40th year in radio.
